Chasing the Crown follows USAW Weightlifter Nile Franklin, as she navigates a year of personal and physical transformation. The documentary film offers an unfiltered look at Nile’s evolving identity as a USA Weightlifting competitor, coach and mother who is reclaiming strength on her own terms.
Nile Franklin is the current 2025 USA Weightlifting Masters National Champion in the W40/53kg division and a five-time USAW Open qualifier. Based in Los Angeles, Nile is a USAW Level 2 and CrossFit Level 2 coach with a multi-sport athletic background. Her commitment to excellence, both on and off the platform, reflects her deep passion for sport, strength, and empowering others through movement. In 2025, she enters three national competitions, chasing a goal that demands more from her than ever before; physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Sarah Keene is an Australian filmmaker based in Los Angeles, specializing in visually driven storytelling with a strong emotional core. Her background in film and TV includes a range of roles from camera crew to art department to production. Sarah is passionate about creating work that informs, inspires, and amplifies voices and stories that might otherwise go untold.
